Eastern Genetic Resources has maintained a SPF herd since 1991. Regular health monitoring by our consulting veterinarian and a strict bio-security protocol ensures that this status is maintained.  Outlined below is our current health status.PIG HERD HEALTH STATUS- EASTERN GENETIC RESOURCES The Herd is:

• Swine Brucellosis Accredited free with the Queensland Department of Primary Industries (DPI).
• Accredited with the Australian Pork Industry Quality Program(APIQ). 

 The herd has been serologically tested negative to:

• Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae serovars 1 and 12 (15) by the Queensland DPI
• Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae by NSW Agriculture.

 Veterinary herd health inspections and abattoir monitoring (PHMS) have not detected clinical signs or lesions for: 

• Porcine pleuropneumonia

• Enzootic pneumonia

• Infectious Atrophic Rhinitis

• Roundworm

• Sarcoptic mange
• Swine dysentery

• Erysipelas

   The pig breeder herd is vaccinated against:

• Leptospirosis
• Erysipelas
• Porcine parvovirus
• E.coli scours.
